Whether you are studying abroad, visiting another school or at a packed concert, Grooop works wherever you go...
Happy Halloween everyone!
Halloween is a fun, exciting holiday for many people. For college towns, Halloween is an even bigger deal — friends visit from out of town, parties are hosted, and any number of festivities occur. Some college towns are known for the gathering of people on the main streets of town for a display of costumes. Our favorite thing about Halloween is that we can spend it with our friends. But of course in any crowded situation there come a slew of safety threats and issues. Grooop wants you to be prepared to have the best Halloween yet — both by staying safe and having fun!
As any event with a large crowd, there are a few base tips to keeping your squad safe and feeling secure:
Try to stick together the best that you can. You may get separated form a larger group but if you can keep track of one buddy you are safer already than you would be alone.
Establish a plan for the night. Know where your grooop is going next so you can meet up with anyone you lose track of. It's also a good rule of thumb to have a next move in mind if you are ever "Ready to Go," or feel unsafe in your current location.
Not only do we need to aware of physical safety, it is important to consider the emotional safety of others. Be mindful when choosing your costume and remember that what you may not consider offensive could still be hurtful to someone else.
As always, stay safer. together.
